Japanese Folk Tale
Theoretical production for NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DRAMATIC ARTS (NIDA)
The tale of jikininki (the "human-eating ghosts"), is similar to Gaki/Hungry ghosts; the spirits of greedy, selfish or impious individuals who are cursed after death to seek out and eat humans and human corpses. This particular folk tale follows that of a greedy priest whose soul turns into a wikilink at night time to haunt a small village and the road to it.
